Dr. Dean Register — Senior Pastor
dean@crosspointhattiesburg.org

Hometown?

Adel, GA  (pop. 4,986 plus or minus a few dogs and cats)

What do you like to do to escape the hustle and bustle of life?

Read my Bible, play golf, or go to the beach.

What is your favorite drink from Starbucks?

Starbucks is good, but I like “bold” from Seattle Drip. So go bold!!

What is you favorite restaurant in the Hattiesburg area?

A tie between Purple Parrot and Longhorn Steak House

What was the best and worst advice you ever received?

The best advice came from a missionary who said “live wholeheartedly for Jesus. You’ll be scared to death half the time and delirious with joy the other half, but you will never have any regrets.” The worst advice came from a cousin who told me a match couldn’t burn twice. (Ouch)

What was your first vehicle?

My first car was a red Volkswagen Bug. It was a charm because it never left me stranded.

What is the one thing many people may not know about you?

That I was the Pastor for the Miss Teen USA contestants for 5 years. Tough job!

As a child, what was your favorite Sunday school story and why?

I always loved the story about Jesus feeding the multitude. One little boy offered all he had and Jesus worked a miracle. What could He do through you and me if we gave Him all we had?

What characteristic of each parent do you most hope to emulate?

My Dad’s compassion. My dad was a WWII combat veteran, but he was a great hugger. He gave me lots of hugs even as I became a Dad myself. My Mom’s positive disposition. She has always had a great sense of humor. She sees the sunny side of life mainly because she is a fantastic prayer warrior. (I Cor. 2:9)

What excites you the most about what God is doing at Crosspoint?

God revs my engine when I see wounded and weary individuals embracing His grace and having their lives transformed by His power. At Crosspoint we point people to the Cross—and that makes all the difference.

The opportunity to experience God revolutionize our area through a church committed to doing whatever it takes to exalt Jesus and love people.  Thank you for the privilege of serving.

Robyn Smith — Ministry Assistant
robyn@crosspointhattiesburg.org

I love my work because I get to minister to hundreds of people and let them know about the love of Christ. I have served as Dr. Register’s ministry assistant for more than a decade. Prior to my family moving to Hattiesburg I worked as the administrative assistant to the Mayor of Brookhaven for 8 years. People sometimes ask me which is tougher keeping a mayor organized or an ADD pastor on task. Well…

One of my spiritual gifts is hospitality. I love helping families in times of need.
